Walk Humbly Towards Your Chosen Path, Your Purpose, To Your Calling
Your calling, your chosen path, is customized to your life purpose, it belongs uniquely to you. God has ordained and equipt you to fulfill the purpose He has created for you.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 NIV
We are God’s handiwork, His masterpiece. God created you exactly how he wanted you to be. He has given you unique features because you are significant, you matter. You are a uniquely designed masterpiece a divine work of art. I can see God’s face filled with complete Joy after finishing the stitching of each of us in our mother’s womb.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13
God didn’t create us to just simply exist blindly stumbling through life stuck in the mundane of working and paying bills. There is a lot more to life than that! God has called each of His children to a different path. A path He distinctly designed for each of us! God has arranged it so experiences that have taken place throughout your life the good, bad, and ugly help facilitate you for your calling. God takes all of our brokenness and our mess and calls us to use it for our miraculous purpose for which He has called us. It was all part of His great plan for our life. It serves its own purpose to allow us to use our sins, our mess, our brokenness for His greater Glory!
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11
Many people use various vises to fill voids in their lives. They use these vises to fill their emptiness, to numb their pain and lack of fulfillment and purpose. Antidepressants, drugs, alcohol, sex, popularity, material possessions, are the enemies distractions to keep us from finding and fulfilling our life purpose. There is nothing that can replace finding and fulfilling what God has ordained over your life.
Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:26-27
For years I used some of those vises to fill the voids in my own life. I used them to give me a sense of freedom from the pain gripping me so tightly that it was cutting off all communication with God. I was running aimlessly through life throwing punches in the air barely fighting through. Today, I know my direction in life, I know where I am going. I am connected with and tied to my divinely ordained calling. I know I have been called to follow a path to Women’s Ministry. I have been called to reach the beautifully broken women who need to hear about the love of Jesus. I am on a mission to make sure women and girls know they were purposely created and chosen by God. The Lord continues to speak this in my heart and through scripture as I seek guidance in His Word. I am often led to Romans 8:28 as my reminder that in all things God works for the good. All things, my past, my sins, my pain, all the things that are uniquely mine.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV
I still question exactly what this looks like and today I was led to 2 Corinthians 4:18.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV
Naturally, we desire to see our plan kind of like a magical crystal ball that gives us a glimpse of His plan. I am a planner, I like to map out every detail before executing. God is teaching me how to trust in His unseen plan, His ordained path that He set in place for my life.
So I wait! I pray, seek guidance and wisdom in the Word, and I wait.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. Psalm 130:5 NIV
Every day I purposely make the most out of my time. God has given me this time for a reason. Time is given to accomplish your purpose. Your calling gives you perspective on your time that you have left to fulfill God’s Will. God has given me back the years the locust has taken away.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV
Even though His time has not come for me yet His purpose is clear. God knows if He gave it to me now I would mess it up. He knows I am not ready. He is taking me through the process of being developed for my calling. In His time, when He knows I am ready, He will reveal the whole plan. Until that time comes I stand confidently in my position in Christ as the ruler over all of my circumstances. I know that even on my worst days I can reflect and know that I am still right smack in the middle of my calling I have learned to be content in all circumstances.
